Chess club started yesterday at the Middle School with a new addition this year! Mr. Ball opened up the club to 2nd-4th grade students as well, and what a turnout! Middle school played first, and then made sure everything was set up for the elementary students. A few even stuck around to help some of the newer players learn the game.
Thank you to Mr. Ball for leading the group, and thank you to our middle schoolers for being great role models for our younger Wildcats!

As part of their programs and International Education Week, our 2 exchange students presented to the American History classes on Friday, November 17. Malina Streich is from Poland and Meika Menniger is from Germany. They shared with the students the geography and culture of their countries. It was very informative, and we thank them for sharing!

Mrs. Sander's and Ms. Muir's second grade classes got together for a lesson from Mrs. Ramlow on including others even when they are different from you! We watched a TED Talk by 10 year old Cole Blakeway called "We Are All Different-and that's Awesome!" followed by an activity where the students were paired up with the goal of getting to know someone new who might be different (and the same!) in many ways.

Congratulations to Miss Gerber's November Elementary Musicians of the Month!

Woodmore Spanish Club and Honors Spanish students traveled to the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center in Toledo for an immersive experience in Latino culture. After viewing honorary altars made by local residents for Day of the Dead, students made their own lunch (only 2 bandaids needed!) and created masks based on La Catrina. Although there were some tears (cutting onions will do that!), everyone enjoyed their experience!

Woodmore senior Caydie Buchanan is joined by her parents, Jennifer and Chris, and her sister, Courtney, as she signed to attend Tiffin University and continue her academic and soccer careers. Congratulations, Caydie.
