Power of the Pen had a great day at Lourdes on Saturday 3/2!
Seventh grader Kaelyn Johnson earned a 9th place award for the tournament along with a Director's Choice award for one of her stories at the past District Tournament in February at Tiffin Middle School. She also advances to the state Power of the Pen tournament on May 17/18 at Ashland University!! There were 22 schools and over 160 writers at this tournament!

The varsity girls wrestling team didn't have a state qualifier in the regional meet at Marysville. Caydie Buchanan (135) and Satori Alter (155) both won two matches while Stella Strong (140) and Mallory Meggitt (115) each won one match. Addison Overmyer (120) had an 0-2 record.

Jack Caldwell will be the alternate at 175 pounds at the state wrestling meet next week after placing 5th in the district meet. Landon Rich placed sixth at 165 pounds while Brant Deal (150) and Wyatt Thieroff (106) did not place after making it to the second day of the meet.

The varsity wrestling team still has 4 athletes alive at the district meet at Rossford - Wyatt Thieroff (106), Brant Deal (150), Landon Rich (165), Jack Caldwell (175). All 4 have 1 loss after the 1st day of the two-day event which determine the state qualifiers from NW Ohio.

Due to the 2 hour delay last Friday, our final celebration of FFA week took place today at the high school. The students explained about FFA and official dress and then played a relay game with 5 stations and 5 students from each grade level. What a fun way to end a Friday!

Congratulations to Alice and happy studying!!

Students in Mrs. Peters' 6th grade social studies class did an ancient Egyptian simulation yesterday! The students were learning about the different roles of people in Egyptian society. The students used M & M’s to represent crops. The separation of the M & M's represented the labor that the peasants had to do to grow the crops. The peasants and the merchants then had to pay a majority of taxes to the most important people in the society: the pharaoh, the priest, and the nobles. One of the pictures shows the three most important people in society toasting to their rewards. We then compared ancient Egyptian society to our society today.
What a fun way to make learning hands on!

Our elementary and middle school staff got a nice surprise this morning from the Woodmore PTO! They were welcomed into the building with coffee, hot chocolate, and muffins! Thank you so much for the pick-me-up this morning!
