Attention Middle School students and parents!
During the month of April, the MS Builders Club will be sponsoring an April Attendance Challenge! First period classes will compete against each other to see which class has the best attendance for the week. The class with the highest attendance percentage advances to the next round. Think March Madness, but in April! All absences and tardies count. The winning class will receive a breakfast party! 🎉
We encourage you to be on time to school, ready to learn! Check out the starting bracket to see who your first period is competing against this week!
Have a wonderful Spring Break, Wildcats! We will see you when classes resume on April 1st!

As a reminder, we will have a 2 Hour Early Release tomorrow, Friday March 22nd, for the end of the 3rd quarter.

Today, the cast of Woodmore's musical, "Annie" gave a sneak peak performance to the elementary and middle school students. If you haven't secured your tickets yet, do so soon! Performances start tonight and run through Sunday. For ticket information, contact 419-704-7807. Anyone attending the show on Friday evening may bring a canned good or two that will be donated to the local food pantry.
We've also included some photos from the dress rehearsal! Looks like it's going to be a great show!!

Please take a look at our current employment opportunities available on our employment page on the district website. https://www.woodmoreschools.org/page/employment
Mr. Schlea's 8th grade PEC class did a "slow race" when learning about Newton's Laws and Friction. Wren Lewis won the 21-person bracket, having the slowest time of 1:51 for her can to roll all the way down the ramp. Way to go Wren!

Remember Pi Day from last week? Well, here are some pictures of Mrs. Cook's class celebrating!
Students were provided snack pies to eat while listening to the reading of Sir Cumference and the First Round Table. Then they spent time completing a variety of activities including the Pi Day Bump game, Pi Day Trivia Sudoku, Circles Sudoku, Pi or Pie Word Search, Pi Day Word Scramble, and coloring pi pictures and bookmarks. Then they played a game of Pi-n-g-o to review circumference and area of circles, where they could win candy. Mrs. Cook wore an octopi shirt in honor of Pi Day, and enjoyed the enthusiasm shared by her students!

Woodmore senior Sage Perry is joined by her father, Tim (seated on left), mother, Erin, sister, Macy, and Wildcat soccer coach Jeff Helmke as she signs to continue her academics and play soccer at Baldwin-Wallace College. Congratulations, Sage.

Today, the MS and ES did a clap out for our elementary and middle school wrestlers who are competing this weekend in the state tournament! Good luck Wildcats!!

Mrs. Kistner's sixth grade students are currently reading the novel Out of My Mind in which the main character is an eleven year old girl named Melody. Melody is super smart with a photographic memory, but showing others this talent is a challenge because she has cerebral palsy. In order to get a brief glimpse of what a challenge like this might be like, the classes ran an activity today in which students had to build the tallest free-standing structure. The catch? One student was able-bodied, one student was blindfolded, one student was unable to speak, and one student was limited to the use of only one arm.

Shout out to our Middle School Quiz Team! They had an UNDEFEATED season, and competed at the Northwest Ohio Middle School Quiz Bowl Tournament on March 6th. They won their first match against Lake, and then lost to Eastwood. Sue Grant was an EXCELLENT coach to this team of amazing boys. Also, Coleton Shaner received the Linette Butler award - there's only 1 awarded each year!
Way to go Wildcats!

Don't forget! We will have a 2 Hour Delay tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12th!

5th grader Alice Christianson has qualified for The Blade's Final Regional Spelling Bee! She will compete on Saturday, March 9th at 10am against 21 other contestants for a chance to represent our region in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington, D.C!
Congratulations to Alice and happy studying!!

Students in Mrs. Peters' 6th grade social studies class did an ancient Egyptian simulation yesterday! The students were learning about the different roles of people in Egyptian society. The students used M & M’s to represent crops. The separation of the M & M's represented the labor that the peasants had to do to grow the crops. The peasants and the merchants then had to pay a majority of taxes to the most important people in the society: the pharaoh, the priest, and the nobles. One of the pictures shows the three most important people in society toasting to their rewards. We then compared ancient Egyptian society to our society today.
What a fun way to make learning hands on!
